Welcome to our Digital Arts Course Hub! These courses are part of the Adobe CTE pathway at Durham School of the Arts. This page is your launchpad for tutorials, project guides, and student resources to help you succeed and explore creatively.

Digital Literacy

A foundational course where students learn essential digital skills—typing, communication, research, and creativity—while exploring basic design tools and responsible technology use.

Adobe Visual Design I

This course introduces graphic design and photo editing through Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Students learn to create logos, posters, and digital illustrations while mastering key design principles.

Adobe Visual Design II

Students deepen their skills with more advanced projects, including branding, layout design, and digital storytelling. Focus is placed on building a strong creative portfolio.

CTE Adv. Studies

A self-directed capstone course where students propose and complete a personal project. Whether it’s an artbook, short animation, or brand identity, students take creative ownership and explore career connections.

Course Summary:
This course empowers students with essential digital-age skills—digital citizenship, data privacy, and cyber safety—while introducing foundational creative and critical-thinking tools aligned with NC Digital Learning (ISTE) standards. Through design thinking and project-based lessons, students learn to publish digital content, analyze online sources, and collaborate safely in virtual spaces.
