Create a Digital Illustration- Halloween Artist Trading Card 

You will use Adobe Photoshop to create a cartoon version of a famous old horror character from Hollywood moviesLinks to an external site., such as Dr. Frankenstein, Dracula, or the Mummy. Your drawing will be used as the front side of an artist trading card designed for Halloween.  

Assignment Details:

• Size: 2.5 inches x 3.5 inches

• Resolution: 600 ppi (pixels per inch)

• Subject: A portrait of a famous horror character

• Focus: Linework, exaggeration, solid drawing, and clearly defined shapes

Steps:

1. Choose a character: Select a famous horror character from the collection of images provided.

2. Sketch: Draw this in a light blue color.  Begin sketching the basic shapes of your character in Photoshop. Focus on exaggerating the character’s key features (like facial expressions or proportions) to give it more personality.

3. Linework and shape refinement: Once your sketch is complete, use clean, solid lines to outline your drawing. Refine the shapes to ensure they are simple, bold, and clearly defined.

4. Color: Add color to your character, keeping the Halloween theme in mind.

5. Create a Frame:  Create a neon-glowing frame around your image.  At the bottom, include your character's name.

6. Finalize: Double-check your work, ensuring the lines, shapes, and colors are clean and well-defined.
