Assignment:
Using this project file., follow the steps below to create the color grading shown.
Adjusting a specific Color:
Select the dress:
Use the quick select tool [or other selection tools] to select the dancer's dress
Click the "Hue/Saturation" adjustment layer"
Adjust Hue: 146
Adjust Saturation: -51
Adjust lightness: -5
Select the Smoke:
Select> Color RangeClick on color of smoke in image
Hold SHIFT and add lighter/darker color smoke
Adjust "fuzziness" to select all of the smoke and then click "OK"
Click the "Hue/Saturation" adjustment layer
Adjust the selection by painting black/white in the layer mask
Hue: -51
Adjust Levels:
Levels adjustment should sit at above all other layers
Choose the "sample in image lack point" [the top eyedropper to the left of the histogram]Click on the darkest area of the dress and drag the cursor up (to decrease brightness)
Choose the "sample in image white point" [the bottom eyedropper to the left of the histogram]Click on the brightest area of the smoke and drag the cursor up (to increase brightness)
Click the RGB dropdown:
