Bottle Design Research:

You and a partner will create your own beverage company from an origin somewhere outside of the US.  Your company will create (2) unique labels for two different flavors of drink.  The flavors must be from your country of origin.  Your label must be themed in a way that embraces the culture and heritage of your country.


Either you or your partner should make a copy of the slide presentation below and share it with your teammate.  You and your partner must complete this Google Slide Presentation and then submit it on Canvas.


Designing Your Logo:

Pick your groups best sketch and create it in illustrator.  Submit it as an .SVG file.   Try to design using simple shapes with either the Shapes Tool, Pen Tool and/or the Pencil Tool.  Look at these instructions for help on shading.


Creating Your Company Name:

Name your company and create a unique company name design in the process.  Submit as a .SVG.  


Designing Your Flavor's Illustration:

Create a visual representation of the flavor of your drink.  This flavor must be above and beyond a color choice.   Submit as a .SVG.


Final Bottle Design:

Create a new Illustrator project with an artboard that is 3.75 x 7 inches in dimension.  Additionally, you will put a design on the cap of your bottle that is .875 inches in diameter.  Make sure to share your project with your teammate.  You will combine your Logo, Company name, and Flavors into this label along with various other information listed below.  Any text and important visual information (i.e. barcode) must remain within the margin space listed below.  Your drink label will be judged based on the brand's appeal, personality, clarity, and design.

  • Cap: .875 x .875 inches (Circle)

  • Flavor

  • Volume: 12 FL. OZ  (355 ML)

  • Optional: Slogan or other info

Left Side:

  • Nutritional InfoLinks to an external site.(> or = to 2.5 inches)

  • Ingredients

  • Bottling Date (ex: MM-YYYY)

  • Recycling Locations:  The letters below correspond to the various states and how much money will be refunded per bottle:(CT-HI-IA-ME-MA-NY-VT-5c/ MI-OR-10c/ CA Cash Refund)

Right Side:

  • Written Copy (about heritage or ingredients)- [ 4-5 sentences].  This should be written in an exciting way and promotes your company to potential customers.  Please use spellcheck/grammar check!
