Assignment:

Pick a photo from the WWII- Portraits folder.  Create a mood board that investigates the correct colors needed for your image (see below for a description).  Then color and adjust your image to realistically retouch your photo. View this slide presentation for instructions.



Mood Board (15 pts)

  • Size: 1920px x 1080px

  • 5-10 images that show a similar outfit to the WWII soldier.

  • 1-2 images that show a similar skin tone to the person you will retouch

  • Create and save a group of swatches that will later be used for your photograph

Photograph: (50 pts)

  • Resize image to be:  1080px x 1920px

  • DO NOT ALTER THE ORGINAL PHOTO

  • Use the color swatches saved from your Mood Board

  • Separately save selections for various parts of your image based on color

  • Create different layers for various colors of your imageUse Layer Masks or Clipping Masks to accurately apply colors to your image
    Use the appropriate blending modes to apply color to the original photo

  • Improve your image's contrast by creating a levels adjustment for each section of your image

You will need to research and create a mood board to realistically reference the correct color palette that should be within your image.  Your image should be in color, with improved contrast, and without any blemishes.
